CP Day 5 Oia to A Ramallosa, Nigrain - 25 kms

Another lovely day following the coast north by the sea and hinterland. Pretty brisk, but sunny blue skies again - yeah! And a bonus - our guide book has a mistake (doesn't happen often). Thought we had to walk 30 kms, turned out to be around 25 - happy it wasn't a mistake the other way. Even spoke to a few peregrinos on the Way - hardly ever see anyone else on this path.

Tonight staying in Albergue Hospideria Pazo Pias (pazo - traditional Galician manor house). Though it's not your typical albergue. Twenty rooms, each with twins beds, 15 euros per person. Some rooms have ensuite bathroom, 4 euros extra per person. That was an easy decision. The rooms are simple, light and bright and everything we need. The public areas - the restored manor house and gardens - are beautiful.

CP Day 4 A Guarda to Oia - 13 kms

A magical day. Lazy sleep in at the Hotel Convento de San Benito, fabulous breakfast (brunch really), a stroll down to the fishing harbour we could see from our room. Checked out at 12 to walk for just three hours along a beautiful path to small village of Oia - we had the coastline to ourselves as far as we could see - and settle in to lovely Casa Puertas, where we are the only guests today. We are walking a pilgrims' Way but we could hardly claim to be peregrinos. Hostels, hotels and Casas are such good value, we haven't yet opted for an albergue.

Though windy at times today, the weather owes us nothing. We have been travelling for 30 days, not a drop of rain and only a few clouds. As for today, the chances of walking on the Atlantic coast of Galicia in April under blue skies are  ... can only think my weather angel must still be hovering nearby. Even if this is our last fine day in Galicia from here to Santiago, we've had more than our share of sunshine.
