Vila do Bispo, Rota Vicentina, Portugal

This afternoon The French and I arrived in the small town of Vila do Bispo in Portugal, from where we will begin our walk on the Rota Vicentina trails. Within minutes of stepping off the bus we knew we would like it here.

We are staying at a beautiful B&B guesthouse - for two nights. It's gorgeous. Tomorrow we'll walk to Cape St Vincent via the Fisherman's Trail and back via the Historical Way to stay here another night before heading north the following day.

The Rota Vicentina trails and towns will be a huge contrast to our last 10 days in Andalusia and Badajoz regions of Spain. Dramatic coastline, more varied weather (blowing a gale today) and, if today is any indication, a whole lot more people.

But we're up for it!
